SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS
Haley Picon
A four-year veteran of the school, Haley Picon has made a lasting impact through a lens and a pen, fueled by a passion for photography and journaling. As a vital part of the yearbook staff, Haley found purpose in capturing every emotional and exhilarating moment of the school year. This creative journey was guided by a group of dedicated mentors: Mrs. Mullins, a constant support since freshman year; Mrs. Oakes, who championed Haley’s technical skills in Photoshop; and Mrs. Kevelin, whose dedication to building a professional yet fun program served as a true inspiration.
While the adrenaline of band and the rush of preparing for musical performances will be missed, Haley is moving forward with a clear and ambitious vision. The next steps include earning an Associate’s degree at EFSC, followed by service in the Air Force, with the ultimate goal of completing an MFA in Film Production.
Jacob Hayes
Jacob Hayes has been an Odyssey student for nine years and has made a name for himself as a talented trumpet player, though he is perhaps equally "honored" by the memorable distinction of being voted worst driver. Throughout his journey, Jacob found a steady mentor in Mrs. Kevelin, whose kindness and care have been a constant over the six or seven years he spent in her classroom. While he will certainly miss the daily routine—and especially the legendary pulled pork from the school cafeteria—Jacob is looking forward to the next chapter. His future plans involve heading off to college and embracing a spirit of risk-taking as he navigates the road ahead.
Daniela Rodriguez
Since joining the community in 10th grade, Daniela Rodriguez has become known for her adventurous spirit and her love for exploring diverse hobbies and new experiences. Some of her fondest high school memories involve crisp autumn days spent at the fair with her close friends. Throughout her journey, Daniela found invaluable support and mentorship in Miss Copelland and Mrs. Jimenez, with whom she shared close relationships that helped guide her through her studies. While she will deeply miss the weekly routine of seeing her friends in the halls, she is ready to embark on a career of service. Daniela plans to attend nursing school and work toward becoming a Registered Certified Nursing Assistant (RCNA).

Level Up Lunch
Our first-ever Gifted Student Level Up Lunch was a great success! Students met in small, grade-level groups, giving them the chance to connect with peers their own age in a supportive and relaxed setting. During this time, they reflected on their strengths, set meaningful goals for the future, and created action plans to grow in areas they want to improve. It was inspiring to see students thinking ahead, supporting one another, and taking ownership of their personal and academic growth.
Locking In with AVID
In this high-energy team builder, AVID students practice tuning out distractions and locking in on their goals. Through engaging challenges and reflection, they learn how to “block out the noise” of stress, doubt, and peer pressure while staying focused on their future path. It’s all about building clarity, confidence, and the mindset to keep moving forward—no matter what’s happening around them.
UCF Trip
On March 31st, our Titan Scholars had an incredible opportunity to visit the University of Central Florida for a college tour led by Odyssey Alum.
During our visit, students explored several areas across campus, including the Colleges of Health Sciences, Engineering, and Business, as well as learning more about the ROTC, and psychology programs. A special highlight of the day was an exclusive tour of the baseball facilities, which gave students a behind-the-scenes look at collegiate athletics.
It was a fantastic day filled with learning, exploration, and inspiration as students began envisioning their future paths. We hope you enjoy the photos from our visit!
Free Breakfast
Odyssey Charter School participates in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. This means breakfast and lunch are completely free for every student, every school day!
There are no forms to fill out, no money needed, and no worries. Your child can simply head to the cafeteria and enjoy a yummy, healthy, made-from-scratch meal to help fuel their bodies and their brains. Á la carte is available to any students who have funds available in their accounts. Prices range from $.50 to $2.50.
We love seeing smiling faces at breakfast and lunch—it truly makes a difference in our students’ day!
