In Memory of Mr. Edgar
Our dear friend and colleague, Mr. Edgar Almeida, passed away on Saturday, Oct 18th. Many of you knew him as the person who kept our school maintenance together, but we all knew him as so much more — a kind soul and friendly presence. Mr. Edgar was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He would smile and say “hello” to everyone he came across. His dedication, laughter, and care made our school feel like home. Our counselors and social workers are available for students who want to talk or process their feelings.
Honesty: Our Florida Resiliency Virtue of the Month
Honesty is the foundation of trust and strong character. When children choose truth, even when it’s hard, they show respect, responsibility, and reliability. Being honest tells others, “You can count on me.” At home, share stories about times when honesty was tough but worthwhile. Encourage kids to admit mistakes and learn from them—because honesty isn’t about perfection, it’s about growth. By practicing truthfulness, children build friendships, strengthen family bonds, and create a community where trust is expected and valued.

SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
Helping Hands
Odyssey Titans traveled to Rockledge for a service learning project. Working together with enthusiasm and efficiency, our students demonstrated true teamwork and compassion. They packed 960 meals for elementary school kids in Brevard who are in need. These meals provide critical weekend nutrition, ensuring that local children can attend school ready to learn. Thank you Titan Scholars for giving back and helping our community!
Celebrating Heritage and Remembrance
In honor of Latin Heritage Month and the upcoming Día de los Muertos, middle school Spanish students have created a beautiful and vibrant display. The colorful installation explores the rich traditions of the holiday, featuring a lovely ofrenda (offering altar) to remember and celebrate the lives of departed loved ones. This wonderful project serves as a fantastic tribute to history, culture, and family.
College and Career Readiness
As part of our goal to have our Titan Scholars, college and career ready, they have received and experienced several visits from colleges and the Armed Forces, to prepare for their next steps after Odyssey.
Art Collaboration, Portfolios, and Clay
It's been a busy and creative time in the art department!
Our sculpture students wrapped up their impressive group modular sculptures, showcasing fantastic teamwork and design skills by combining individual pieces into cohesive, larger works.
Meanwhile, AP Art and Design artists are intensely focused on finalizing the first key pieces for their college-submission portfolios, demonstrating dedication to their chosen artistic paths.
Finally, our ceramics students are getting back to basics, developing fundamental technique and control by working diligently on pinch pots, setting the stage for future complex clay projects.
