SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
Victorian Tea Party
The Victorian Tea Party is the culminating event in Ms. Widmer's Victorian Drama unit where we read The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. Students conducted research on the Victorian era—particularly on manners and social customs since that is a major theme of the satire on the play. English IV Honors (1st and 4th periods) students then created a character that they became to come to the party. Their mid-term exam essay/project is to create a short story based on this character and people they interacted with at the party.
AP Literature students read the play and participated in the event because the play has been frequently used on past AP Literature exams. In addition to completing the College Board curriculum for the course, they are required to read at least two major literary works per quarter, and this play was one of the selections for this quarter.
Palm Bay Tree Lighting Ceremony
The holiday season officially arrived in Palm Bay City Hall with our spectacular Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec 5th. It was a beautiful evening, made extra special by the talented students from the Titan Band, whose festive performance filled the air with cheer.
Band Concert
The spirit of the holidays was truly alive this past Thursday as the Titan Band delivered a magnificent Christmas Concert in the school gym. The event was a huge success, with the gym filled to capacity with proud parents, eager students, and enthusiastic faculty who came out to support our talented musicians. We extend a huge thank you to the Titan Band members, production crew, and directors for sharing their musical gifts with our community!
Knotting Success
This past week, our male students in grades 7 through 12 had the valuable opportunity to participate in the school's new 'Tied Together' professionalism initiative. This program, designed to foster essential skills for future success, brought together our young men for a series of focused, gentlemen-only sessions centered on cultivating a professional mindset. Some of the gentlemen brought the Tied Together event into their reading class. They ran their small group lesson like a business meeting. This shows the power of a tie and the power of a Titan!!!
Middle School Winter Dance
The Middle School Winter Fantasy Dance on Friday, December 12th, was a huge success! Students enjoyed a spectacular evening of music and fun as the cafeteria was transformed into a winter wonderland. Thank you to everyone that helped organize the event and to all the chaperones who volunteered their time. Thank you to Mr. Noel for being an awesome DJ for the event!
Diving in to Discovery
Mr. Noel organized an engaging and memorable field trip to The Florida Aquarium in Tampa for high school students last week. This excursion offered students a dynamic opportunity to explore various aquatic ecosystems and witness incredible marine biodiversity up close. The immersive experience—featuring sharks, sea turtles, and colorful coral reefs—provided a valuable, real-world complement to their classroom learning.
