January's Florida Resiliency Character Trait is Perseverance
This month, we are going to explore how to use self-awareness and self-management when communicating with others. These skills play a key role in how we communicate and work with others. Self-awareness helps us better understand how our feelings and thoughts affect the way we communicate with others. Self-management helps us control our impulses and choose our words and actions thoughtfully. Together, these skills help us handle stress, remain composed when faced with differing opinions and strengthen our connections with others.
“Self-awareness is the compass; self-management is the engine. When we understand ourselves and choose our best actions, we steer toward resilient, meaningful lives.”
SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
Soccer Win!
Congratulations to our Varsity Soccer team for winning the Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAA) championship today! Titans won 6-2 against Calvary Christian Port St. Lucie. Congratulations Titans!!!
Ceramics
Ceramics students were excited to see their coil-built jugs come out of the kiln. For this project, they were practicing traditional hand-building techniques while focusing on form, structure, and surface detail. This project builds craftsmanship, creativity, and problem-solving skills as students turn simple coils into expressive ceramic vessels. They will finish them next with colored glazes.

HEALTH TIPS
Avoid the Flu
We are seeing increased flu activity across Florida this year, including a newer strain that spreads more quickly, which makes our shared efforts especially important.
Please Keep Children Home When They Are Sick - If students are not feeling well, we ask that they remain home and return to school only after they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours (without fever-reducing medication) and their symptoms are improving.
Healthy Habits at School - Students are reminded daily to wash their hands, cough or sneeze into the crook of their elbows, and take care of themselves and one another.
Movement, Fresh Air, and Good Nutrition Matter - Daily movement, time outdoors, and exposure to fresh air and sunshine support immune systems and overall well-being.
As a health-focused school community, we also emphasize good nutrition. Providing nutrient-dense foods—such as proteins, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains—while limiting added sugars can help children maintain strong immune systems and steady energy for learning.
