Our Florida Resiliency Virtue of the Month - Gratitude
This month, our school is focusing on the resiliency trait of gratitude. Gratitude means being thankful and sharing appreciation with others. Expressing gratitude is a way to show kindness to others, and it is also nice to receive gratitude from those we help. Gratitude is an important part of developing good relationships with others.
What are Titans Grateful For
In a recent survey we asked students what they were most thankful for and here are the most popular answers: Their family, their friends, pets, looking forward to the holidays for travel and time off, improving their grades, cooler weather, feeling healthy, teachers who care and help them learn, music, hobbies, sports, art, reading, quiet time, nature, relaxing, and good food.
There’s always something to be thankful for—big or small—so take a second to notice those good things around you every day!
Tidy Up Titans!
A clean campus reflects the pride we have in our school and in ourselves. Let's make a great impression every day by taking responsibility for our environment. Please be mature and help out: if you see trash (even if it's not yours!), pick it up and throw it in the nearest can. Let's work together to respect our property and keep our school looking its best.
SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
Musical Accolades
Sarah-Ann Greer has been selected for the Brevard High School All County Band and Matthew Greer has been selected for the Brevard Middle School All County Band. Both will represent Odyssey Charter School at the All County Band Concert on January 31st at the King Center. Congratulations go to Williamina Leslie for being selected to be a violinist in the All County Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra. Congratulations go to Johnathan Blankenship for receiving a superior in the solo/ensemble audition for violin.
Cross Country
Our cross country season has officially ended, and both athletes finished on a high note with each achieving their season and personal-best time in the 5K. Ethan Wirkkala closed out the season with a time of 23:55.22, while Pharoah Pharel ran a strong 20:50.7. It was a great way to end the season and a reflection of their hard work, discipline, and growth throughout the year.
Soccer
Congratulations to the middle school soccer team on a 3-2 win against Holy Trinity. Great job Titans!!
GATEway
Come learn more about our GATEway program on December 2nd at 5:30 p.m. Parents and students will be able to interact with current Odyssey students, teachers, and our GATEway program coordinator to find the perfect fit for you.
AVID
In AVID, students build soft skills to support them in any career they choose. These students practiced communication, leadership and the importance of balance in the “Human Inchworm” activity. Later, students participated in an activity called, “welcome to the party” where they practiced observation and critical thinking skills. Who had more fun, the students or Mr. Mazza?
Psychology Project
Our students recently dove into the past for a new project, researching an influential historical figure of their choice. As you can see, they synthesized their findings to create these detailed posters and historical newspaper layouts. It was a wonderful way to see history come to life!
HS Sculpture Class
In Sculpture class, students are channeling their creativity through abstract forms inspired by renowned sculptor Henry Moore. They’re learning to think like sculptors—considering how light, shadow, and space interact to bring their designs to life. The finished works will highlight both craftsmanship and imagination.
Farm to Table Fun
This past month, students in the farming class got their hands dirty out in the field and their taste buds tingling in the classroom! For a unique Halloween activity, the class explored nature's candy with an exotic fruit tasting, sampling unique produce like jackfruit, dragon fruit, and tamarinds. Outside, the students were busy planting new crops by utilizing pineapple tops from the school café, a great lesson in sustainability. They also focused on soil health by making compost tea to enrich the field with beneficial bacteria and undertook a practical forestry task by cutting down two encroaching pepper trees to protect the main pineapple field. It's been a month of hands-on learning, from the soil up to the dinner table!
Conference Night with AVID
Parent teacher conferences tonight looked very different in AVID classes. Students shared their data chats with parents including details about their grades in all classes, test scores for multiple years and attendance history. Students reflected about areas in which they are excelling and plans to continue to improve. Well done, Titan Scholars!
Honoring Our Veterans
Odyssey's school community came together on Friday Nov 7th to celebrate and recognize the brave men and women who have served our country at a special Veterans Breakfast. The event was a heartwarming tribute to the veterans of our students' family members and the wider community, allowing us to personally express our gratitude for their sacrifices. Guests were treated to a delicious complimentary breakfast and music performed by the Titan Band.

Robotics Meet
Odyssey was proud to host an exciting FTC robotics competition on Sat, Nov 8th. Students from 19 schools across Florida demonstrated incredible skill and ingenuity, navigating their robots through complex challenges. The event highlighted the dedication and technical talent within our school community. Thank you to all the participants, volunteers, and supporters who made it a major success.
Space Coast Art Festival
Saturday and Sunday were perfect days for art at the 60th Annual Space Coast Art Festival at The Avenue® Viera. Under beautiful blue skies and warm weather, a plentiful crowd explored the aisles, taking in art from talented professionals and the Student Art Show where 20 Titan artists from 6-12th grade displayed digital art and fine art creations. Congrats to all who participated!
