SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS
Santiago Oliveros
Since joining Odyssey in 7th grade, Santiago Oliveros has dedicated much of his time to his twin passions: music and sports. Whether he was playing soccer with his teammates or spending his mornings at the piano, Santiago thrived in the creative and athletic communities on campus. He credits Mr. Stout as his favorite teacher, noting that the music theory he learned in class helped him significantly further his hobby of composing music in his free time.
As he prepares for graduation, Santiago admits he will deeply miss the close-knit group of friends he’s built over the years. His next chapter will take him into the Air Force, where he aims to secure a strong career and serve his country.
Madelyn Monk
Since 2015, Madelyn Monk has been a vibrant part of the Odyssey community, known for her strong faith and pride in her Filipino heritage. A talented singer with a heart for service, Madelyn dedicated herself to helping others discover the value of music by serving as an intern for all Chorus classes. She credits Mr. Neustel for helping her understand her true worth and encouraging her through every challenge, often seeing her potential even when she couldn't see it herself.
As she moves toward graduation, Madelyn will deeply miss the "printed memories" in the school halls, her theater family, and her Chorus teacher, Ms. Broom. Looking ahead, she is driven by a dual mission: professionally, she plans to earn her Bachelor's degree and become a Family Lawyer to advocate for children in broken homes. Spiritually, she aims to serve as a Youth Leader, sharing her faith and the "indescribable feeling" of a life dedicated to the Lord with the next generation.
Jiali Jiang
Since starting at the school in 9th grade, Jiali Jiang has worked diligently to overcome language barriers and build a strong foundation for a future in emergency medicine. A major highlight of Jiali’s high school experience was being accepted into a dream program for Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Jiali is deeply grateful for the unwavering support of teachers like Mr. Foster, Mrs. Copeland, Ms. Guslawski, and Ms. Jerina, who provided the language guidance and career mentorship necessary to help Jiali succeed in the USA.
As graduation approaches, Jiali will fondly miss the community of friends and teachers who made this transition possible. Looking ahead, Jiali plans to attend Valencia College to pursue a career as an EMT before advancing to become a Paramedic. Alongside these professional goals, Jiali is excited to eventually hit the road on a Kawasaki Ninja 500 and behind the wheel of a Toyota Supra.
SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
Congrats to Senior, Ariana Rivera, for her outstanding achievement at the Brevard Public Schools Digital Art Show in Viera this weekend. She secured 2nd place for her photo composite art! Way to go!
Also congrats to the Commercial Art and Game Design students who earned their Adobe and Unity Certifications last week! Keep up the great work!
Keirra Williamson left the competition in the dust this week, securing a stunning first-place finish in the 200M. The 8th-grade standout didn't just take home the gold; she also shattered her previous best, clocking in a new personal record of 27.63 seconds.
With this latest performance, Williamson continues to establish herself as a formidable force on the track. Fans and coaches alike are eager to see what this rising star will achieve next as she continues her impressive season.
Ms. Denard's class transformed into a living history museum this week as our middle schoolers showcased their hard work! Our 7th graders truly shone, donning suits and stovetop hats to bring the Executive Office to life with spirited presidential presentations. Meanwhile, our 8th graders impressed us with their scholarly depth, presenting sophisticated projects that honored the rich histories and cultures of various Native American tribes. We are so proud of the research, creativity, and public speaking skills displayed by all our students!
The campus was a vibrant tapestry of sights and sounds this past weekend as the Titans celebrated our diverse community during our outdoor Cultural Fair. Students and teachers represented their heritage through a stunning array of traditional art and flavorful dishes, turning the grounds into a true celebration of our school’s rich background. It was a beautiful day of connection, reminding us all how much we can learn from one another’s stories and traditions.
