SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS
Lucas Cabral
Over the past nine years, Lucas Cabral has balanced his academic life with a thriving creative side, producing and releasing his own music on Spotify under the name KingMutts. During his time on campus, he took pride in a unique leadership role, assisting the school deans to ensure his fellow students remained in conduct and the halls stayed orderly.
While he will miss the simple joy of seeing his friends every day, Lucas is well-prepared for the future thanks to the mentorship of Mr. Frank, who taught him life lessons he plans to use forever. After graduation, Lucas aims to trade the music studio for the garage as he pursues a career as a mechanic.
Ismarie Mercado-Miranda
Since joining Odyssey in the 8th grade, Ismarie Mercado-Miranda has cultivated a genuine passion for learning and a reputation for being an active, helpful presence on campus. Her favorite high school memory captures the spirit of the community: a lively pep rally where the students cheered on their teachers, specifically highlighting Mr. Frank’s moment in the spotlight.
A dedicated student of Mrs. Velez, Ismarie’s interest in biology blossomed into a mentorship role when she served as the teacher's assistant during her junior year. As she looks toward the future, she is balancing an exciting array of career paths, with plans to study nursing or physical therapy while also pursuing her interest in cosmetology. Whether she is mastering a new subject or enjoying her favorite school lunch, chicken tinga, Ismarie is ready to bring her curiosity and work ethic to her next chapter.
Tyra Lightbourn
Since joining Odyssey 11 years ago, Tyra Lightbourn has made her mark both in the kitchen and on the lanes. A passionate cook, she brings that same focus to her extracurriculars, most notably when she achieved the incredible milestone of scoring 101 points for the bowling team. She credits much of her success and positive experience to the guidance of her favorite teacher, Mrs. Lewis.
As she prepares for graduation, Tyra admits she will miss the excitement of Friday night events, her involvement in sports, and even the unique freedom that comes with high school life. Her next chapter will take her to college, where she plans to study Criminal Justice to pursue a career in the legal or law enforcement field.
