SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS
Gabriel Guzman
Gabriel Guzman has been a dedicated student at Odyssey for the past seven years. Originally from Cuba, he is now looking forward to the next chapter of his life—specifically the freedom that comes with no longer having to attend school every day. During his time at Odyssey, Gabriel particularly enjoyed Mr. Foster’s math lessons, noting him as his favorite teacher. While he is eager to graduate, he admits he will deeply miss the daily lunch periods, as they provided the best opportunities to relax and hang out with all of his friends. Gabriel plans to channel his affinity for numbers into a professional career as he works toward becoming an accountant.
Nate Gordon
Nate Gordon has been a student at the school from ninth grade through the present. He holds a deep appreciation for Mrs. Hamzeh, citing her as a "cool" teacher and a reliable source of sound advice. Looking ahead, Nate intends to take a gap year to travel the world before returning to his studies. His long-term plans include moving in with friends while pursuing his post-secondary education.
Brayden Dawson
Brayden Dawson has spent five years at Odyssey, a journey marked by strong connections with both faculty and peers. He shares a lighthearted rapport with Mr. Foster, who jokingly remarks that Brayden’s hair makes him look "goofy"—a look that apparently perfectly matches his personality. As his time at the school draws to a close, Brayden feels a sense of accomplishment knowing that this long chapter of his education is ending just as he prepares to transition into higher studies.
He credits Mr. Foster as a standout educator, appreciating his effectiveness in helping students master math. Beyond the classroom, Brayden will miss the supportive community at Odyssey, specifically the guidance of teachers like Mr. Foster, Ms. Widmer, Ms. Parish, and Mr. Zelonski, as well as the company of his many friends and classmates. His next step will take him to the Florida Institute of Technology, where he plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Beach Clean Up
Our students showed up with purpose and heart at the beach clean-up, rolling up their sleeves to make a real difference! As they collected trash and helped restore the shoreline, they also dove into learning about sea turtles and the challenges these incredible creatures face. Students discovered how something as simple as picking up litter can protect nesting areas and keep hatchlings safe on their journey to the ocean. It was a day of teamwork, environmental stewardship, and meaningful learning—proof that even small actions can create big waves of impact.
AVID Recruiting Night
Future AVID students got a firsthand look at what the program is all about during our recent recruiting event! Students explored how AVID supports success in and out of the classroom, heard powerful insights from current AVID students, and saw real examples of how AVID learners stay organized in their time, materials, and thinking. It was an inspiring glimpse into the skills and strategies that help AVID students thrive!
Free Breakfast
Odyssey Charter School participates in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. This means breakfast and lunch are completely free for every student, every school day!
There are no forms to fill out, no money needed, and no worries. Your child can simply head to the cafeteria and enjoy a yummy, healthy, made-from-scratch meal to help fuel their bodies and their brains. Á la carte is available to any students who have funds available in their accounts. Prices range from $.50 to $2.50.
We love seeing smiling faces at breakfast and lunch—it truly makes a difference in our students’ day!
