Message from the Principal, Mr. Michael Davis

Dear Odyssey Families,

As we close out an amazing year at Odyssey Charter School Jr/Sr High, I want to take a moment to thank you for all your support. In my first year as principal, I have been honored to lead our students and faculty.  I am excited about what the upcoming year will bring to the Wyoming campus and our Titan Scholars. We have new programs and electives that we cannot wait for your student to experience. Next year, we will add an ROTC program, Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), and Business and Entrepreneurial CTEs and offer Dual Enrollment transportation for our EFSU and FIT students. Please contact your child’s Guidance Counselor for more information if they are interested.  We are also thrilled to announce that we will be increasing our 1 to 1 program for our high school students. Our expansion of this initiative means that all students in grades 10 through 12 will have access to laptops full-time in their core classes, and sections of our 9th graders.  As Odyssey continues to grow, so does the amount of opportunities and pathways for all of our Titan Scholars. We hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing summer. We will see you in July.

GRADUATION May 18, 2024

The Class of 2024 celebrated its graduation on May 18, 2024. Some graduates will attend various colleges and universities, others will join the military or officer training corps, and some will go directly into the workforce.  No matter their chosen path, we cannot wait to see the next great things they will accomplish. Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

8th-Grade Grad-Tastic Trip

On Friday, May 17, 2024, the 8-graders went to Sea World.  They had a blast at the Orca Experience and Dolphin Encounter and even ran into Mr. Guevara’s “twin.”

8th-Grade Stepping-Up and Awards Assembly

On May 20, 8th graders received their Certificate of Achievement for completing middle school.  Certain students were also recognized for individual achievements in academic and elective classes. Congratulations to all!

Awards Assembly

On Tuesday, May 22, 2024, students were recognized for their outstanding achievements in various academic and elective courses. Mr. Davis also handed out the Gentle Giant and Titan Awards. The Gentle Giant Award is presented to students who embody the Odyssey mission while showing compassion and empathy for their fellow classmates, faculty, and staff.  This child is a friend to all and is always ready to help others.  Students are selected for the Titan Award because they represent the school‘s mission.  These Titans are excellent students and helpful classmates.  They hold leadership positions and are wonderful role models.

Congratulations to the following students:

Gentle Giant

Skylar Lee - Grade 6; Vanessa Perez-Dumeng - Grade 7; Natalia Columna - Grade 8; Emily Lewis - Grade 9; D'Jorn Cox - Grade 10; Malachi White - Grade 11; Gian Oquendo-Verdejo - Grade 12

Ms. Beauchamp’s US History Class

For their 8th grade US History Final exam, students in Ms. Beauchamp’s class did living biographies. They had to choose a person they studied during the school year and present their research while dressed as that historical figure.  These 8th graders did a fabulous job on their final exam presentations.

The Melbourne Municipal Band is hosting their annual FREE Summer Band Camp June 10th-28th. This is a GREAT way for students who play school owned instruments to be able to play during the break! Students who are not currently enrolled in band at OCS can also attend and get a head start!
