SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
Rhythm by the Numbers
Keyboarding students put their music knowledge to the test with a written “rhythm math” assessment. Students are learning how note values, rests, and time signatures work together to create rhythm. Understanding these fundamentals helps build a strong foundation as they continue developing their piano skills.
Digging into Agriculture
Agriculture students have been busy with a variety of hands-on projects around the farm. They are preparing tomato rows with trellis poles and mulch, adding organic compost to enrich the soil, and collecting native flower seeds from the pollinator garden for future planting. Students are also seeding trays with the flowers they collected, learning firsthand about soil health, water conservation, pollinators, and the full growing cycle.
Art Starts With You
Our middle school artists spent this week finishing and refining their All About Me Pre-Assessment Posters. Students focused on craftsmanship, adding final details, and making sure their artwork met the project expectations. The project also gave students a chance to express their personalities and interests while showing what they already know about art and design.
Titan Talents Take the Field
Congratulations to Sarah-Ann Greer and Benjamin Tudor as they traveled to Stetson University this weekend to represent OCS at the inaugural Hatter Band Day. They performed with the Stetson Band during this Saturday’s football game against Webber University.
