WHAT'S HAPPENING ON THE ODYSSEY JR/SR CAMPUS?

AVID Brothers

It is always delightful to see siblings encouraging each other.  Congrats to Bryan Shirley, grade 9, for cheering on his younger brother, Hendrick, grade 6.  That’s the AVID Titan spirit!

AVID &  ESports Field Trip March 19, 2024

This week AVID students and ESports members toured Full Sail University and the University of Central Florida. Odyssey Titans walked on the campuses and went inside classrooms.  They talked to advisors about specific majors and learned about the application process for each university. AVID students measured various attributes of each school and reflected on how the different colleges support their individual future goals. This field trip is one of several ways that the AVID program assists students with their journey to college acceptance.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS

Titan Senior Class of 2024

Megan Willis

Megan has attended OCS since 3rd grade. She is in the Wind Ensemble and Marching Band and is part of the stage crew in Musical Theater.  She loves the sense of community created in these programs, and her favorite teacher is Ms. Kevelin.  A fun fact about Megan is that she is a jewelry crafter and makes almost all of the pieces she wears.

Bernadette Welsh

Bernadette is passionate about music and has been collecting CDs and Vinyl records for the past decade. She is in the Symphonic and Marching Bands and says seeing all her progress over the years is very rewarding.  Bernadette’s favorite Senior year memory is seeing so many alumni return to attend events and show their support.  She admires Ms. Kevelin and looks up to her as a role model.

Bernadette has been accepted to Eastern Florida State College, where she plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in business.  This will be beneficial as she wants to break into the music industry.

Christian Georges

Christian has attended Odyssey for the past three years.  He likes his teachers because they help him learn and create a sense of community.  He is an athlete who enjoys playing soccer and basketball and has had leadership roles in this area.  He appreciates his relationships with friends and faculty and will miss Odyssey. He plans to attend Eastern Florida University and major in architecture or business.
